The last voyage?

Cars are normally transported on ships but a rare - and extremely interesting - reverse situation is noted in our column.

The passenger sidewheeler Jagienka travelled this way in 2009 from Poznań (from the river Warta) to an unknown destination in the east.

Please notice that the side wheels, rails and banks from the sundeck have been removed, so that the box-shaped vessel looks like a nonpropelled houseboat.

Even the well-informed enthusiasts of ship spotting, who know every inch of bulrushes inside and out, don’t have the slightest inkling what happened to Jagienka. Any ideas?
