Year 2017 brought new records for the Swedish port - in total freight traffic, the number of handled trucks & trailers, as well as served passengers and their cars.

"It is really satisfying that the port's and its clients' efforts, coupled with a healthy market growth, continue to deliver such results. We are strengthening our position as one of Sweden's biggest seaports," Björn Boström, CEO, the Port of Ystad, commented.

He then added, "Apart from this expanding business cycle we are now in, the lower ticket prices to Bornholm as well as Polferries' commitment to bring more and bigger vessels have prepared the ground to seize the lion's share of the growth seen in the market; growth that we're hoping will continue to unroll in the future as well."
