Russian seaports: 786.97mt handled in 2017 (+9% yoy)

Last year, the Azov-Black Sea (+10.4% year-on-year to 269.5mt) became the country's biggest trading basin, surpassing the Baltic's long-lasting dominance (+4.6% yoy to 247.5mt).

Rail freight traffic in Estonia: 12.4mt carried in 2017 (-1% yoy)

With 7.6mt (-5.5% year-on-year) dispatched last year, transits continue to dominate the country's rail cargo traffic.

Port of Helsinki: 12,253,920 passengers served in 2017 (+2.3% yoy)

According to the port authority, Helsinki became last year the No. 1 pax port in Europe when it comes the number of ferry and cruise travellers served.

Port of Ventspils: 209,894 passengers served in 2017 (+83.3% yoy)

The Latvian port also hit a new ro-ro cargo units handling all-time high last year, when 81,755 trucks and trailers (+2.3% year-on-year) went through Ventspils' quays.

Port of Skulte: 819.8kt handled in 2017 (+9.1% yoy)

With 421.2kt (+2.7% year-on-year), timber was the commodity most often shipped through the Latvian seaport last year.

Port of Aarhus: 511,424 TEU handled in 2017 (+12.4% yoy)

The Danish port hit its new container throughput record last year.

Port of Gliwice: 126.9kt of coal handled in 2017

After five years of inactivity, the Polish inland port, located in the southwestern part of the country, again started to tranship cargo.

Viking Line: 6,881,149 passengers served in 2017 (+5.8% yoy)

The ferry company also transported a record number of passenger cars last year - a total of 762,253 vehicles (+11.7% year-on-year).

Wasaline: 16.3k ro-ro cargo units carried in 2017 (+24% yoy)

The ferry company hit its new all-time highs also in regards to the number of served passengers and transported pax cars.

Port of Kaliningrad: 223,230 TEU handled in I-XI 2017 (+30.1% yoy)

In total, the Russian seaport took care of 12.54mt of freight over the first 11 months of 2017, noting an increase by 17.8% year-on-year.
