SCA Transforest is going to call Big Port of St. Petersburg from the beginning of January 2012.

The new link is a result of cooperation between SCA Transforest and Delta Shipping Lines. Each company will operate one vessel on the route Rotterdam – Stockholm – St. Petersburg – Umea – Sundsvall. The frequency will increase to one call per week on fixed days. The first vessel to St. Petersburg leaves Rotterdam on January 5th and Stockholm on January 8th.

For Delta Shipping Lines the main concept is to combine its freight flows from Europe to Russia with the Swedish southbound paper cargo to Europe and transhipment to overseas.

Delta new service will start in January 2012 and will offer the company's services by following three Loops:

  • Loop 1: Rotterdam – Stockholm – St. Petersburg – Umea – Sundsvall
  • Loop 2: Dunkirk – Rotterdam – Gothenburg – Aarhus – St.Petersburg
  • Loop 3: Hamburg – Gdynia – St. Petersburg – Sundsvall
